Compact, lightweight and sturdy, the Marmot Eos 1P backpacking tent is ideal for thru-hikes or solo outings. A good balance of weight, weather and bug protection, the freestanding Eos 1P is a perfect trail companion for backpackers.
The Eos 1P’s DAC NSL Dual diameter, green aluminum hub-pole keeps packed weight to a minimum and provides solid, freestanding support. Integrated, color-coded easy-pitch clips allow the body of the Eos 1P to attach quickly, easily and securely to the poles and the freestanding design enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position.
A single D-shaped door allows access to the 21 square feet of interior space of the Eos 1P and the 7.85 square feet of external vestibule space can stow a pack and boots from wet weather. The mesh walls allow for plenty of ventilation in hot or humid weather and also help to combat condensation when the temperature is cooler. The weatherproof floor and rain fly are seam sealed and work together to protect the interior of the Eos 1P from the elements while a catenary cut floor design helps to keep the side seams of the Eos 1P tent away from the ground in wet weather. Reflective guyout points can be staked out in windy conditions and let you find your tent easily in the dark.
A compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the Marmot Eos 1P Backpacking Tent from sharp objects, mud and ground water. For those backpackers who want to further reduce packed weight, the rain fly of the Eos 1P can be used with just the footprint and poles to serve as a minimalist, ultra-lightweight shelter.
